We’ve already seen the Q4 E-Tron in concept, but now our spy photographers have given up on Audi’s test of the electric SUV. As you might expect, the prototype production car is covered in camouflage – but it seems to closely follow the style of the car concept unveiled last year: the headlights, the bumper and the overall shape we already see as a car.
Our spy photographers also managed to see a compact ESU with interesting results. Although on the same platform as the Škoda Eniac and VW ID4, the interior of the Q4 is very Audi and is largely borrowed from the bigger siblings of the E-Tron.
Audi Q4 E-Tron: First look
Audi has confirmed that the Q4 will be released by the end of 2020, indicating that it still takes a year of development before considering a serial version. By then, it would be the fifth all-electric Audi on sale, reflecting how quickly the electrification trend is catching up.
It’s too early to talk about the exact cost, but CAR Magazine understands that the Q4 Electric SUV will cost around $ 40,000 by the end of 2020 or early 2021 when sales begin in the UK. Battery costs are gradually declining, and EVs are rising – so electric cars are becoming more sustainable for drivers, with the launch of the e-tron sweet spot.
Audi design chief Mark Lichte told exhibitors that the first affordable Q4T A-segment battery will be an electric SUV, and that the body color accents on the grille will be signed by the future electric Audi.
It is a smooth crossover and the right size for the European segment of the Heartland crossover. Also keep in mind the new ‘Digital Signature’ lighting finish – customers will be able to specify various details on the lights, which is the first for production cars as far as we know. More details on that soon.

Audi Q4 E-Tron: Little brother of its first production electric car
The full-size Audi E-Tron is now on sale, and engineers hope to be able to reduce the cost of batteries and knowledge of electric cars to make the technology available to more customers in the coming months.
The Q4 E-Tron is smaller than Big Daddy, 4.6m. Most of the specs have been reduced in an attempt to reduce footprint – and cost:
The battery size is 82 KW
Electric motors total 225 kW (front and rear)
More than 450 km (450 km)
0-62 mph in 6.3 sec
Top speed is 112 mph
Like other VW Group small and medium electric cars, the Q4 is based on the ubiquitous MEB EV platform, which connects lithium-ion batteries along the spine of the car within the wheelbase. The 82 kWh stations are remarkably capable of a vehicle of this size, resulting in a decent power range that eliminates any worry about the energy we are interested in.
According to most MEB products, Audi gets 80% charge in just 30 minutes (assuming a lot of high-speed chargers are available). These large batteries add a little extra weight of 510 kg.
Inside the Audi Q4
Ingolstadt hopes this small SUV will continue to be more than a family transportation obligation. The cabin of the Q4 is reportedly particularly spacious, as there is no axle to steal the interior space – and the battery packs push the passenger much more, making it a suitable top at a height of 1610 mm. That height is met by 22-inch solid aluminum wheels.
The interior of the Q4 E-Tron is adorned with Audi’s latest touch screens, and the carpets are made of recycled plastic, while the head-up display mixes and sets Mercedes ’MBUX Dynamic Navigation, but here the directional turn arrows blow the real road. It happened a long time ago in production cars, people …
Audi has now publicly confirmed that it is a concept car that will jump off the catwalk to the showroom. Audi is presenting its compact electric SUV at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The Audi Q4 e-Tron concept provides insight into the next phase of Audi’s electric mobility and will be introduced as a production vehicle in late 2020 / early 2021. ‘
The pace of change in Audi is accelerating, isn’t it. The company has pledged to have 12 fully electric cars and at least eight plug-in hybrid cars in Geneva by 2025.
The next full-battery electric car was unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show in April 2019 – the newly expanded Audi Q2L E-Tron with long wheelbase, specially designed for the Chinese car market.
